The enterprise

AQUAMAR diving Co., conforms an enterprise totally dedicated to the certification for persons who wish to obtain the scuba diving license (s). This certification const of a theoretical-practical course for each license. Also, the enterprise offers to the public exclusive scuba diving tours to several points in national waters and international waters as well.

Mission

Our mission is to offer the client a total satisfaction through our services in which we promote the health, education and the person integrity to contact with the submarine world in a very respectful and secure way, as we are costarican market leaders.

Our place

Our enterprise consists of a central office installation in San José C.R., where we keep everything you need to start with your theory lessons. Inside this walls we promote the fun, confidence and respect between each others, while we take also the scuba diving learning procedure very seriously.

AQUAMAR diving Co., counts with all the necessary qualified personnel integrated by Instructors and Dive Masters who provide their services to the public in general.

Besides, we count with all the necessary scuba equipment for the client or student and staff as well, to go out to the ocean at any moment.

ENTERPRISE OBJECTIVES

General

To promote the scuba diving as a recreation activity as well as a learning method to protect and serve to the environment.

Specific

To teach through theory and practice lessons the basic techniques to learn how to scuba dive.
To continue the theory –practical scuba dive learning through certification to posterior levels.
To teach how to identify common marine life forms at different scuba diving points.
To decrease the scuba diver impact into marine ecosystems through the teaching of various ways to preserve the environment.

Murcielagos Island

This is actually a very small archipelago located north of the province of Guanacaste. The trip from Playas del Coco is about one and a half hour long, by sea. Marine flora and fauna is pretty abundant. Among the sea life you can find here are “cleaning” fish, as well as Butterfly and Angel fish, and Moorish Idol. We can also find big schools of Jack fish, Grouper fish in their juvenile stage, Red Snapper and Gold Tail Snapper, several types of rays and Devil rays, that usually feed in the area, as well as Gold rays.

The most remarkable feature here is that it’s the only known site in Costa Rica where you dive with Bull sharks, because it’s where you can find them more frequently and more abundantly. In just one dive you can see as much as 15 sharks, as well as Blacktip sharks. The group of islands has a total of 12 diving sites, of which the most important are:

San Pedrillo Island (The Big Scare)
Bajo Negro.
Las Pirámides.
Bajo Escondido.
San José Island.
Las Puertas de la Iglesia.

The water temperature is around 20 to 26 °C, the sea bottom is a rocky formation of volcanic origin. Depths vary between 12 and 40 meters, in some areas it can be deeper. Visibility is between 12 and 25 meters. The best season to go diving in Murcielagos Island is from May until October (best between July and October, since the rain has already started). It is not recommended to visit at another time, because the water is too cold and it is too windy, so sharks leave the area.
